Effective immediately, creators uploading content to the platform are required to disclose if their videos contain elements generated by AI algorithms.

Failure to comply with the labeling guidelines may result in penalties, including content removal or suspension from YouTube’s Partner Program, which enables creators to monetize their content.
Upon reporting AI-generated content, YouTube will append a label in the video description, indicating the presence of “altered or synthetic content” and providing viewers with essential context. For videos discussing sensitive topics like politics, these labels will be prominently displayed on the video screen, enhancing viewer awareness.
